Look quick, for this will be gone tomorrow.

Yesterday at work, my friend Claudia made me feel bad. She's a super sweet Mexican woman with a good sense of humor, and she's working really hard because she's trying to get her husband and baby daughter (legally) to the US.

I made a joke about never cleaning, and she looked at me like she didn't understand. Then she said, "What do you cook for your kids when you go home?"

Hmm.
I thought.
...and thought.
...and thought.

"Can of green beans?"

"WOMAN! How long you been married??"

"Six years," I admitted, head hung low.

"And you don't know how to cook yet?!" *Shakes head* "You need to know how to make good food!"

i am ashamed.

Remember, six months ago, when I moved into this apartment?
I promised you pictures of the place and never delivered.

Today I had an unexpected day off (thought I was working, but it was actually tomorrow), so I dove into the disastrous kitchen and cleaned like mad. It hasn't been cleaned like this since before I started working, so it needed it BAD. (This is the number one reason I don't cook - messy kitchen.) Took me hours to clean our teeny, tiny kitchen. While I was at it, I decided to finally take some pictures for you guys! See? Kept my promise. ;)

Boys

The kitchen is so small, I had to turn in a circle to take these pictures...

Yes, we do laundry in the kitchen.

I even made them dinner after that!!

Ok, so it was Ramen noodles. What of it?

Asher said, "Mom, you just made the whole kitchen SHINE! It was like, 'Ding! Ding! Ding!'"
